The final report and annexes of case studies from a Study on Innovation in Higher Education undertaken for the European Union in 2013 led by LSE Enterprise and the Panteia Group have just been published. PASCAL undertook two of the case studies within this study, which are found in the annex as follows:

Some of the participants in the green and health strands of the 11th PASCAL conference ready themselves for another day of discussion, and field trips starting at the main campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Education.

Organisations in the UK benefit by generating £90 million per year through the UK's membership of UNESCO. These finances, which include investment, tourism revenue and project grants, have contributed to regeneration, community development and conservation across the UK.

Having been in South Africa last week I was alerted to the Gauteng City-Region Observatory, and was pleased to see that it includes amongst its work a project on Transformation in Higher Education, which examines of ''how the concept of a ‘learning region’ may be applied to the Gauteng City-Region (GCR), through the institutional vehicle of the region’s higher education institutions''. During the PASCAL 2012 Conference in October in Brest, Brittany, France delegates to the Conference, including PASCAL Chair Josef Konvitz, met with representatives of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities (CAAC). By simple coincidence the CAAC was in Brest at the same time as PASCAL for their annual conference! A meeting was arranged between Alan Foster, PASCAL Executive Officer, and Tamara Guirao-Espiñeira, CAAC Co-ordinator, in order to explore issues of common interest.
