La contribución de las universidades al desarrollo económico y social - Fundación CYD

This paper, La contribución de las universidades al desarrollo económico y social, recently published as a blog item from Fundación CYD, Spain, may be of interest to subscribers involved with the contribution of universities to cities and regions; an area that PASCAL itself still works in in various ways including in our work with global south partners in SUEUAA and the work we highlighted last week in Taiwan, which is part of a larger project in Hong Kong, Scotland and Italy.

Applications for the Professor Sir David Watson Award for Community University Partnerships now open

The Sir David Watson Awards recognises the combined efforts of community and university partners towards making a difference to the lives of people in their shared community. These awards have been created in memory of Professor Sir David Watson, honouring his leadership in encouraging community-university engagement.

PNU hosts SUEUAA international forum

The Philippine Normal University through the Linkages and International Office (LIO) hosted the International Forum on Strengthening Urban Engagement of Universities in Africa and Asia last 28-29 August 2018.

This international forum gathered some 80 researchers, educators and community engagement experts and practitioners from various universities, government and non-government agencies to discuss best practices in urban engagement and extension programs. The forum reaffirmed the roles of the universities in addressing and responding to the needs of the local community.
