Educating Citizenship from, for and to Participation - Teaching Citizenship and Participation in Spain

Educating Citizenship from, for and to Participation was designed and implemented, mainly destined to work in Adult Education schools of the city of Seville, aiming the facilitation and promotion of citizenship and participation, through the analysis and knowledge of their surrounding daily realities. This material is organized in themes: Me and my environment, Something more than a word and Participatory Budgets divided in 10 activities from the definition of the community problems to making proposal to the assemblies.

PASCAL Co-director at Institute of Adult and Vocational Education of the Beijing Institute of Educational Sciences

The Institute of Adult and Vocational Education of the Beijing Institute of Educational Sciences is delighted to be hosting PASCAL Co-director, Professor Michael Osborne, for a series of seminars during the week beginning 25 November 2012.

International Consultative Meeting for establishing the UNESCO-Global Learning Cities Network

PASCAL Co-director Professor Michael Osborne and Associate, Professor Norman Longworth were amongst those attending the International Consultative Meeting for establishing the UNESCO-Global Learning Cities Network (UNESCO-GLCN) in Hangzhou, China from 28 – 29 November 2012.

Professor Longworth has been advising the UNESCO-GLCN in creating indicators for this network; his presentation is featured below together with a photo showing him enjoying the evening view from the conference location with Dr Jin Yang from UNESCO UIL:

Webinars on Work Based Learning

A series of 3 hour-long webinars will take place in December on the subject of work based learning and the experiences of the E-ViEW project team who have been developing and piloting a European Virtual Campus aimed at learners who want to enhance their management skills and competences within a European context. Each webinar lasts from 16:30 to 17:30 CET and they will take place on 5 December, 12 December and 19 December.

Lord Kelvin Adam Smith Fellowships

The College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow is seeking exceptional candidates for its fully-funded Lord Kelvin Adam Smith Fellowships.

There are up to 6 College of Social Sciences positions available for highly qualified postdoctoral researchers with normally at least 1-2 years’ experience at postdoctoral level.

The Fellowships will be for 3 years in the first instance and appointment will be made at Research Fellow Grade 7 or 8 depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
