The seventh session of the World Urban Forum (WUF7) was held in Medellín, Colombia from Saturday, 5 April to Friday, 11 April 2014. With sessions held every two years, the Forum examines rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies and policies.

The Talloires Network E-Newsletter - April 2014

The Talloires Network is one of the partners with whom PASCAL collaborates. The Network enjoys a high profile and is among the several national and international bodies encouraging universities worldwide to adopt a more centrally-focussed universities' 'third mission' commitment to community service in its different senses and settings.

Lifelong Learning and Governance. From Programming to Action – Selected Experiences from Asia and Europe

This new book has been published by the Regional Office of DVV International for the use of colleagues who work towards lifelong learning policies and systems in their countries. Apart from a number of interesting articles there are documents from recent conferences in the region that looked at learning cities, adult education and lifelong learning. It is an extended and translated version of the journal Bildung und Erziehung, 4 / 2013 published by Boehlau Verlag.

OECD Workshop Shares National Experiences on Green Growth

20 February 2014: Participants shared regional and national examples of good practice on green growth at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Expert Workshop on ‘Green Growth, Development Planning and Policy.' Participants emphasized the need to understand the economic rationale behind existing green business initiatives and the possibility to 'green' existing jobs, as opposed to creating more green jobs.
